EPISIS Service Seminar

at RESER Conference 2011 Hamburg, Germany,
September 6–9, 2011

The EPISIS project organises a Service Seminar for students in connection with the RESER conference. EPISIS project is an EU-funded Inno-Net project aiming at supporting service innovation development (see EPISIS website for more information). The Service Seminar for students aims at investigating the influence of innovation on service productivity and welcomes students from around the world to an intensive and exciting study programme. Invited are undergraduates and graduates with special interest and experience in Service Science.

The participants will learn about the peculiarities of services with regard to innovation and productivity. By means of case studies drawn from day-to-day practice they will develop their own innovative solutions in order to increase the productivity of particular services in fields like health, energy, security or mobility. In this way the participants will gain an insight in how complex and challenging the task of increasing productivity in services is and what role innovation, in particular user-driven innovation, is playing in this respect.

European experts in services and innovation will guide them through their work with the case studies. Experienced professionals will provide practical information on the needs and characteristics of service providers in the above mentioned fields.

During the seminar the participants will also have the opportunity to discuss with policy makers in the field of service innovation and to present the results of their case studies to an international audience of experts in Service Science at the RESER Conference.

The EPISIS Service Seminar is organized in cooperation with the 6th annual Summer School in Services of Aalto University in Finland which will take place from August 28th to August 31st, 2011 in Espoo (Finland).
